I stopped by this McDonalds to buy a Happy Meal, as I'm collecting the Minions toys for my godchildren. I have yet to see a McDonalds more decorated in Minions - they were all over the drive-through, and through the windows I could see several 8-foot Minions made out of balloons. At the drive-through window, there was a sign noting that the only way to get a Minons toy was by buying a Happy Meal. That's why I was more than surprised to receive a Happy Meal in a regular McDonalds bag, with a How to Tame Your Dragon toy. I've been to other McDonalds who put up a simple sign, computer generated or hand-written, when they've run out of the current Happy Meal toy.... so why couldn't the McDonalds at McDonald Headquarters do the same??!!? I went inside to speak to a manager. The manager confirmed that they were out of Minions toys but could not give me an explanation for why they weren't doing anything proactive to inform customers before purchases were made. I told him that I would have gone to a different McDonalds if I knew that this one was out of Minions. He told me I could look at the other toys he had available, but offered nothing else. I informed him that I wasn't interested in other toys - nor was I really interested in McDonalds' food - - I came her for a Minions toy. I will never return to this McDonalds and don't recommend it to others. There are plenty of other McDonalds out there who do a much better job of being forthcoming with customers about what they can and cannot offer them.

This is kinda sad, I was expecting more from the McDonald's right IN THE PARKING LOT of McDonald's HQ. Front counter/ordering went quickly but it still took forever to get my order, and when I went back up later to get a shake to-go, they never called my number and I had to get them to make it because they never made it.

I can't believe I'm giving McDonald's five stars. I recall saying on several occasions that I would never give McDonalds a five-star rating but I guess I should never say never. Two floors, a little cafe area/lounge, free wifi, more televisions than a bar (!?), a little fireplace, a very modern and comfortable atmosphere, fast and friendly employees, modern outdoor seating, no children's play area (aka: no screaming kids), and very clean. I could stay here for hours, working on a computer or reading a book. THIS is how McDonald's should be. The only bummer is that the food is still the same as every location: highly processed and unhealthy. I heard they had a 'secret menu' here but I forgot to ask about it. It's too bad this couldn't be some kind of 'healthy' McDonald's. Oh well. It is what it is. And still worth five stars.

Well my morning started out rough today! I work close by the McDonald's in Oakbrook and decided to stop by to get coffee for my coworker and I. Unfortunately my coworker did not get to enjoy her coffee because there was a fly in it, thankfully she did not take a sip of it yet. However that's very disgusting and now I'm questioning my coffee! We tried calling the location to let a manger or someone know about it but no one answered the phone for about 2 min of us calling. This is unacceptable I will not return to this McDonald's!!!

I just can't give a fast food joint more than 3 stars ... just on principle people! So let me break down the three I'm giving this particular McDonalds location. One star is all I can give it for the food - standard McDonald fare Second star goes to the decor as it really makes you feel a little better for being in a McDonalds. I mean plasmas all over the place, a second level, a McCafe and ample parking to boot! Third star goes just for the fact that it is next to their corporate headquarters. I find it somewhat funny seeing the corporate guys going into the place and running the show. The regular staff probably needs to be on their "A" game all the time so that must challenging for them. Minimum wage turmoil at its best - I sadly remember those days! I only wanted to check this place out because I figured they would spruce it up a bit. I may go back once in awhile as it does feel comfy hanging in there and it seems it doesn't get packed too.

Went thru drive up for a saus-egg-mcmuff last saturday. Still thinking about how perfect that was 3 days later. Best I've ever had.

Worst McDonald's I have ever been to. First I get a coffee full of grinds and now I get a large eggshell in my McMuffin. You'd think with corporate right next door that they'd be amazing...

We go out of our way to avoid eating at any McD's, mostly because it is unhealthy. To make a long story very short: the drive-thru clerk/service was horrific! I have never heard a woman be so rude to a customer (my friend, who was buying a kids meal for her daughter). Avoid this place. There are so many good restaurants in Oak Brook along 22nd Street/Cermak Rd.

Nice, nice McDonalds. The service is outstanding and the restaurant is always clean. My only complaint is the intense sunshine with the way the building is angled even with their nice window treatment. I look forward to my coffee and computer time here.
(4)Courtney C.
I really can't stand McDonalds..well I should say, I can't stand anything but their breakfast. Their breakfast is pretty good and a nice treat every once in awhile. The only reason i'm even reviewing a place like Mickey D's is because of the sheer awesomeness of how they can make a line of 15 cars disappear in less than 5 minutes. I've witnessed it. Many times. It's pretty life changing. The people that work here are also super nice. I'm not a fan of McD's food per se, but I can definitely appreciate a well-oiled machine.
(4)Sherwin C.
Very classy and the food is a bit better than a lot of the other McDonalds. It's worth a visit just for the "wow" factor of eating your meal in a really nice area. I just wish other McDonalds like this would pop up so I could drink coffee and eat a Big Mac while watching TV with my friends when I go out on the weekend.
(4)Andrew L.
This is by far the best McD's in the land. It helps that it's adjacent to the corporate headquarters, where I imagine Ronald and the Hamburglar play foosball during their breaks of heated discussions of next quarter's happy meal toys. There have been times when the food comes out before I've completed paying. Maybe that's because I was paying with a sack of nickles, but nevertheless, consistent speed and accuracy of orders. Can't go wrong. Plus it's classy with some jazz/lounge music. Not according to the dates I've taken there...
(5)Elizabeth W.
The apocalypse is nigh! I am reviewing a McDonalds AND 5-starring it! This is the fanciest McDonald's ever, though. They don't just have wifi. They have a wifi *lounge.* They don't just have bathrooms you can use without getting a key. They have *clean* bathrooms you can use without getting a key. There's not just regular McDonald's food but test menu items other locations don't feature. Secret food! The employees seem friendlier than your average burger slingers. There are flat-screen televisions in the dining area. My coffee was actually served at a normal temperature. There's excellent light throughout if you feel like sitting and reading as you consume your heart attack sandwich. The coffee house-style beverages are surprisingly good. The pumpkin spice latte stood out in particular. I haven't been to a McDonald's in at least a decade, but I think I might not wait another ten years to come back to this one for a cup of coffee. (Still not going to eat the food, though!) If you must visit a McDonald's, you should visit this one.
(5)Alisa K.
Basically, I love this McDonald's. It is probably the best McDonald's in whole Illinois. Two floors, comfortable booths, free & fast WiFi, very modern decorated, having a small fireplace, more TV than sports bar(Lol). Staffs are very friendly. The only thing I don't like is the food. All high in calories......However, I do like the fruit Oatmeal. Warm and delicious, perfect for breakfast.
(4)Luis S.
Technically i was going to give it 3.5 stars, but can't do half stars on yelp and it's definitely not 4 star mcdonalds. For one it doesn't have any kid play areas. Also for being right next to headquarters, it doesn't have any memorabilia like the rock n' roll downtown and some other ones I've been too. Upstairs is usually closed and wi fi is not fast, i guess because so many people are using it. Service is fast, but drive thru could use couple more smiles in there. The best thing that I like is the outside patio area and that is probably one of the cleaner McDonalds I've been to. Parking is usually always full. Food, I would rate it 3/5. Way too much mayo or dressing the times I have gotten burgers, meat patty, chicken fingers, fries, bun all didn't taste as fresh. In all, feel like this McDonalds could use more uniqueness to make it stand out since it's right by the headquarters. I usually stick to Red Robin or five guys for good burgers.
(3)Laura C.
Worst service EVER!! Not joking it took us 35 minutes to get a coffee and over an hour to get a burger a fries!!!! I can not believe many one would every go to this location. I know it's just mcdonalds but how hard is it to get a burger. What a joke! Will never be eating mcdonalds again because the horrible experience I had. There was bums sleeping in every booth. I don't come to a restaurant even mcdonalds to expect to see bums!! And then the food was terrible!!
(1)Satya N.
Not normally would one give a McDonalds location 5 stars but this place deserves it. From warmth, speed, cleanliness and ambience, this is how all McDonalds should be.
(5)Erik H.
Why write a review for a McDonald's? Other than the fact that this is the flagship McDonald's, right next to the corporate headquarters? Actually, that's the only reason. The food is the same salty, mass produced nonsense as all their other stores (full disclosure: McD's breakfast is on a whole different level), but the presentation is rather spectacular. From the wheel of flat screen TV's hanging off the ceiling in the main dining room to the plush chairs surrounding fireplaces to the fact that this particular McDonald's is, well, clean, they're really not holding back when showcasing what every McD's should be - but isn't. I mean, if you're going to get McDonald's, you might as well come here. I would just recommend a classic Egg McMuffin and hash brown combo.
(3)Merrill H.
While driving down 22nd Street, you can't help but notice the fancy McDonald's in front of McDonald's headquarters. My co-worker and I decided to check the place out. As you can see from the photos I uploaded, there is a very large dining area both up and downstairs. There's a round, bar-like seating arrangement in the middle of the dining area, with flatscreen tvs above. The place is spotless- no trash on the floor, the newspapers are stacked nicely, and the Ronald McDonald statue inside has no scratch marks. The McDonald's is also attached to a McCafe, which seems to me to be their version of Starbucks. There were many different coffee choices and some yummy looking pastries. Too bad there aren't more McDonald's like this! ------------------- Geesh- I posted the below message and get ragged on! It's just a review for McDonald's, people! (I'm not referring to you, Mike L.) --------- Will post a review soon.
(3)Edgar G.
2nd time at this McDonalds and this time it turns out i'm eating nuggets with no sauce even after they had asked me what kind of sauce i would like. Keep up the great work!
(2)Giselle S.
I come here because it is mandatory. Staff Meetings have been scheduled and the upstairs office chairs and tables make a meeting set up happen for those coming from different parts of Chicagoland. This place is McDonalds, but instead of gearing up the place to draw in the kiddios, the draw is for those in need of having to work while eating. There are tall stools and couches and free newspapers(?). Free Wifi, easy tables to set up a laptop, plenty of televisions for watching the NASDAQ and sports replays and overhead music to keep conversations private. And you can have a Big Mac and fries with that staff meeting. Well in our case it's coffee and breakfast sandwiches and crispy hash browns. I never know which way to go to get back to the highway and end up U turning in the mall parking to get back in the right direction. This is a workers hangout and housed next door to McD's corporation.
(3)Inigo M.
Very clean, very modern, a great place to meet and do business. There's an upper level. And a McCafe. Prices are somewhat cheaper. Food's the same. The plasma screens show only 'propaganda'. This has to be the training McDonald's for managers. You don't see teenagers running the place. Corporate headquarters is next door.
(4)Linda T.
Seriously the NICEST and cleanest McDonald's I've been in. It's got an indoor cafe kinda like Starbuck's (and the prices like it too), and of course, the main McDonald's food. I'm not too much of a fast food junkie, but I can say that a little McD's here and there isn't going to hurt. Fast service, roomy dining area, vast amount of parking. It's also a great place to study if Barnes or Borders is ever super-crowded. There aren't a lot of people here that make incessant noise, so if you're a hardcore student like me, you will be able to concentrate. Plus - coffee. Always a perk. (Pun intended.)
(4)adam p.
I was staying in the neighborhood for business and a friend told me that I should check this place out, since McDonald's is an American icon. I came by here on the morning before I left for the airport and I was very surprised at the atmosphere at this McDonnald's. It was practically spotless, two stories high, with wide screen televisions located at the center so almost anywhere you sat, you can watch whatever is showing with the volume turned down low with the closed captioning. Most of the screens were tuned into a one of the many popular cable television news services. Just next to it, is a cafe where you can get some pastries and a cup of coffee. They even have a nice fireplace to sit by, should it be cold or snowy outside! There is plenty of parking and just hop and a skip away is THE coroprate HQ for McD! Now for the food... it's McDonalds.. so what else can you expect??? (LOL). Go here for the atmosphere, as for the food, you'll have to judge for yourself if you've never had McD's.
(3)Sarah F.
Wow, is this really a McDonalds? This place is located just down the street from the corporate headquarters and you can tell some different thinking went into creating it. They have plasma tv's and the place is pretty styley. I would have given it a better rating, but the food is the stand Mickey D's food. Yuk!
(3)Nik M.
It looks like they made it more pleasant to eat garbage! That's cool!
(1)Erin B.
While this is the "prototype" of sorts for the McDonald's of the future, it offers the same standard fare. You're thinking, "Why is Erin reviewing a dumpy Mickey D's!?" This is not your normal McDonald's. I admit to meeting my brother here before the two of us head off to our respective classes later in the night. I like stopping here for a variety of reasons. Usually the service is super fast, there's PLENTY of parking, and it's got plenty of room to spread all your books and notes out on the tables. Oh, another perk--it's never crowded when I'm there!
(4)Barack O.
Classiest fast food store I've ever seen (and that includes McDonald's own three-story Times Square location). This place is massive and fuses cafeteria-like airiness with cozy fireside relaxation; choose the part of the store that fits your mood. (There are even leather sofas are scattered around.) Every dining area is immaculate, and while the bathrooms are slightly dirtier, they are free of odors and far more luxurious than your typical McDonald's bathroom. Even the food here is prepared with utmost care. Sometimes it comes close to the pictures on the menu. Sure, at the end of the day it's still fast food and it's still McDonald's, whatever that may mean to you, but you won't experience any soggy burgers, stale fries, or other nasty atrocities. If you're in the area, this McDonald's is worth a special visit.
(5)Doris D.
A big shout out to my morning friends at this McDonalds... "Heeeeyyyy"!! Sometimes, I even get some else's order instead of mine! (Tee hee!!) Am I embarrassed that I am here every morning asking for a non-fat iced mocha?? No!!! Are THEY embarrassed for me? Oh yes!! ( I know it when I hand over my money!) Oh, I'll be back, tomorrow...
(4)A J.
I never thought i'd review a McDonalds... because they are all the same, what could go wrong? Well i came in 10pm (closes at 11pm) after a Bulls win for the celebratory big mac. The store was empty, just one group in line ahead of me. What should have been 5mins max wait for food turned into a half hour ordeal. Seemed like everyone working that shift didn't want to ... work apparently, pathetic I go out of my way to avoid McD for the sole reason that the food is crazy unhealthy, and the one time i do go I'm bombarded with inexcusably slow service. PRO TIP: Always use the drive-thru and just bring your food if you want to dine in. Fast food restaurants prioritize car customers to the point of penalizing people that took the effort to walk in.
(1)Joshua M.
I'm only giving this place 3 stars because it's the craziest McDonald's in size alone. The food will still make you feel like a mixed martial artist kicked you in the stomach after a few minutes of attempted digestion.
(3)Kenyon J.
McDonalds food is McDonalds food. The way this place was built and looks is just AWESOME! This was the best McDonalds I've ever seen! But like i said the food here is the same everywhere else. How it looks and the atmosphere is AWESOME!
(4)Elvin Y.
Who would have ever thought I would say one of my fave salads ever is from....McDonald's! Yes, people, the grilled Southwest Chicken Salad with the Newman's Southwest dressing is the best! This salad has so much in it ....delicious juicy marinated chicken to tortillas to beans/cheese. It's health and satisfying at the same time. I usually get it with a big cup of their freshly brewed (non sweetened) ice-tea. This MCD location is amazing. It's super duper clean, has fast service and has great seating space. I just tried their new banana/strawberry smoothy the other day....delic! The only down side to having lunch at MCD....I usually go in for a salad and I leave with a sad face of wanting fries....but then I get a happy face when I'm eating my healthy salad:-)

Can you believe I went over ten years without eating McDonalds. That was until I moved to IL a year ago. My favorite is the one in Hinsdale. This place is cool too; they are set to standards. Love the flat screens. I have a food crush on three things right now at McDonalds. Ice Cream cones, sausage egg & cheese McGriddles, and now the Angus burger.

Wow! This is the best McDonalds I've ever been to. I got there at like 12:45 today, and the line was INSANELY long through the drive through. I thought it would take forever, but it went sooooooo fast. It was crazy awesome. I was amazed at the quickness of this place. The food tasted exactly like every other McDonalds that I've ever been to, but the service was just ridiculously fast, which I think is very good. This is to be expected since it is in the parking lot of the corporate headquarters lol.

The breakfast steak on toasted english muffin with fresh grilled onions, cheese, fresh cooked egg and montreal steak seasoning is excellent and affordable. The cafe lattes are very good, much better than Dunkin and much less expensive than Starbucks. Quite a revelation.

this McDonalds has really shitty service especially at night with the rude African-American ladies. Do not go here unless it is your only choice.

Absolutely the worst service I've seen at a McDonald's in a long time. Slow. I can't believe they let this signature location run so poorly considering HQ is only a mile away. Avoid!

I just saw a commercial...the last line was, "here's to non-conformity." WTF. I hate you McDonald's.

Um... a long time ago, someone told me that the chicken mcnuggets are made from a mixture of dog meat and something else seasoned with some unknown chemical concoction. Oh god... I ate a whole lot of dogs in my life and it was GOOD. Never knew that dogs can taste so good with honey mustard or sweet and sour sauce. I hardly ever eat at mcds nowadays, but occasionally I stop by their drive-thrus for the NEW ice coffee drink. Cheaper than starbucks and much bigger. I don't really care about its other products, or its contribution in child obesity, or its stupid clientele who spilled hot coffee on herself and sued the corporation. Whatev. (p.s. I really don't know what I'm talking about. I'm just really bored in class right now)

If you must have McDonald's, this is the place to do it. Because of its proximity to headquarters (literally across the parking lot), the place is immaculate, the lines move quickly and the orders are rarely incorrect. I once ordered an iced coffee without sugar or cream and it didn't turn out correctly. I went inside and they quickly gave me the right coffee, along with a coupon for a free coffee later and their apologies. This is probably the best fast-food experience you'll get in America.

I almost never go to fast food places but this morning I was famished and it was 5 AM. It was brilliant and I was just in the drive-thru. The service was prompt, the people were friendly and it wasn't riddled with a thousand non-english speaking mexicans. I would go back just because everyone was so nice. I had to wait a couple minutes and the really nice guy at the pickup window must have said "I'm sorry." 5 times. The food was terrible, as expected from McDonald's but it was hot and fresh. If you like eating the food at McDonalds on a regular basis, you'll love it.

I haven't been to any Mcdonalds outside of the state, but this Mcdonald's is one of the best in IL in my opinion. The environment was clean and the customer service was awesome. The only downside is that there may be too many customers, which means the food takes longer to prepare.

This people are so friendly that work here. The place is always clean and it is super busy! I can count on a quick trip through the drive through for my favorite ice tea.

They charged me hot water that I was going to use to warm a baby bottle

1 star for excellent friendly & professional staff, efficient; 1 Star for great location, easy entrance easier exit. This IS McDonalds afterall, I feel as though I'm ingesting corporate science experiment masquerading as friendly food, but we're NOT FOOLD!

This McDonalds is right next door to the corporate offices. I've never been inside, but the drive-thru girls have always been friendly. As for the food, it is Mickey D's, so you know what you're dealing with. I've actually been to this location mostly to fetch food for friends, and to date, nobody is getting food poisoning, so all is well, as it is fast food. Oh, and I tried to walk next door to visit the corporate offices, they have that place locked down like Fort Knox. If you don't have a reason to get in, the security guards won't let you pass. The mystery meat recipe is strongly guarded, and will, for the time being, remain a mystery.
